Senior Expo
A Senior Expo is generally held annually in different cities among states to embrace the lives of the seniors in that community and throughout the United States. This is a fantastic social event for seniors. Incorporated into the event are exhibitions, food, prizes, and fun. Many organizations exhibit tables with a particular them of interest to seniors. Many of these have an educational purpose. Some examples are:
Elder Law, Financial Planning, Homeowner Services, Rehabilitation Services, Wellness Programs, Housing Options, Home Care and Hospice Services, Medical Equipment and Supplies Services, Caregiver Support Services, Companion Services, Behavioral Health Services, Advocacy, Adult Day Care Programs, Medicare Programs, and much more.
Exhibits also include certain health screening services. Blood pressure readings are one of the most popular. Many of these Expos also include speakers who have a special interest in senior living and care. To level things out local entertainment is also provided. Lunch or some provision of food is also offered at most of these events. Overall, the hope is to provide an informative fun filled experience.
Sponsorship is a great way for companies and organizations to support the seniors as well as advertise their products or services. Booth space for non-profit organizations is usually available free of charge. Space for profit organizations varies. Advertising space in the local senior directory also varies. However, there is the option of inclusive sponsorship which most often includes advertising and booth space. It usually is offered on three or four different levels of commitment. This sponsorship is significant because it subsidizes the cost of carrying these events. Since these events often carry expense of food and transportation the amount can quickly accumulate. The sponsorship agreement is a confidential contract between sponsor and organization. It may usually be cancelled if a situation occurs beyond the sponsors’ control. It may also be modified under written conditions and approval. Notifications must always be given in writing. These agreements are bound by law and governed by the regulations of each state.
As baby boomers begin to reach the age of retirement, these expositions will be even more significant than years gone by. The population of elders will greatly increase and organizations, companies, and services will need to accommodate those numbers. Getting the recognition of these seniors is crucial and the Senior Expo understands that and fulfills that need. The annual gratification keeps seniors current with changes developed to enrich their lives. They can now plan and live their future in confidence that their needs will continue to be meant. Our seniors are important to us. They are the parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends of those who accommodate our lives.
Our support of our communities Senior Expo represents an expression of interest in the quality and value of senior care. Celebrating the lives of our seniors shows them that we appreciate all they have achieved and all they will continue to do more easily because we care. We are wiser and more valuable people because of the effort these seniors have made in our own lives. At the Senior Expo we can make our thanks known.
